Moroccan gas find for Sound

Jun 02, 2016 12:00 AM

UK-based Sound Energy has drilled its first Morocco well at the Tendrara site to full depth of 2,665 metres and is now preparing to test it.

The company said it identified the TAGI reservoir starting at a depth of 2,535 m, some 12 m higher than that identified in the previous TE5 well. The new well identified significant gas shows whilst drilling the reservoir and the full set of acquired logs will be now processed. Sound Energy has confirmed that a total gross pay of 89 m has been identified.

The rig will now be moved from the present TE6 appraisal well to the site of its planned second appraisal well (TE7). Once the rig has been moved, Sound Energy will start operations at TE6 to mechanically stimulate the reservoir, and then conduct a well test.
