NNPC loses 2 mm litres of petrol to vandals daily in Oyo State
Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said it loses no fewer than 2 mm litres of petrol within two hours on
a daily basis due to activities of pipeline vandals in some parts of Oyo State.
This came following the arrest of five suspected NNPC pipeline vandals at Ajaawa in Oke-Ogun area of the state.
Parading the suspects, the state's Commissioner of Police, Basiru Azeez, said managers of both Ibadan and Ilorin NNPC
depots had come to the command to complain of the activities of vandals in Oyo-Ogbomoso area of the state.
He maintained that members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers (IPMAN) in Ilorin have also complained of shortage
of supply due to siphoning of fuel in the some parts of the state by hoodlums.
