Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi said that the petroleum sector has accomplished much in the last two years, including its restructuring through the creation of three holding firms for natural gas, oil and petrochemicals. The sector also created 24,000 jobs and training courses for fresh graduates.
"Such accomplishments aim to provide 80 mm tons of petroleum products and gases to meet the needs of the local market worth $ 14 bn in a way that adds about $ 20 bn to the state's treasury," he said.

Addressing the "Future of the Oil Industry Symposium", the Minister said that Egypt has recently signed contracts to export natural gas to Spain, France and Jordan.
