Nigeria LNG to build third train
June 10, 1998 Nigeria LNG recently announced its intention to proceed with the development of a proposal to install a
third train at its Bonny Island site in Rivers State, Nigeria.
The contract for front end engineering work has been awarded to the TSKJ consortium, which includes Technip,
Snamprogetti, The M.W. Kellogg Company and JGC Corporation.
TSKJ is currently engaged in the construction of the first 2 trains at the Bonny Island site. These trains are
scheduled to commence operations in October 1999.
The third train and its associated facilities are similar in size and design to the 2 trains already under
construction.
If approved, the expansion will increase the annual LNG production capacity of the Bonny site from 5.9 mm tons to 8.7
mm tons.
Shell Gas Nigeria BV will act as technical adviser to the project from the Shell Office in The Hague.
