Gas Natural signs new supply contract with Nigerian gas company
Spanish Gas Natural SDG has signed a new contract with the Nigerian LNG (NLNG) whereby the latter will supply 27 bn
therms annually from 2002.
The contract is for 20 years, Gas Natural said.
It said it has already signed one contract with NLNG to supply 16 bn therms annually, adding this contract is valid
from the end of 1999.
The new contract signed with NLNG will allow Gas Natural to meet part of the expected increase in demand for natural
gas over the coming years, the company said, adding it will also guarantee the security and diversification of the
gas supply to the Iberian Peninsula.
Nigeria will now become Spain's second major natural gas supplier after Algeria, Gas Natural said.
