Shell to invest $ 657 mln in Egypt’s Western Desert Gas
Shell will invest $ 657 mm to start natural gas production in Egypt's Western Desert within the next two years, Oil Minister Hamdi el-Banbi said.Banbi was saying the output from the Obayyed gas field, estimated at 300 mmcf and run by Shell Egypt, would be channelled into a pipeline which will carry the gas to a petrochemical plant near the Mediterranean. Banbi also said the field's output of 53,000 barrels of condensate would be taken to nearby refineries.
