Tunisia's Chorbane permit awarded to Australian firm

The Chorbane oil research permit has been awarded to the Australian Alpine Oil and Gas company as part of a production-sharing contract with Tunisia's oil company ETAP.
Extending over the governorates of Sousse and Kairouan, this permit covers an area of 2,428 sq km.

The works schedule for the initial period has been set at 3 years for an investment estimated at $ 3,5 mm to be financed by Alpine Oil & Gas.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Tunisia's government by Afif Chelbi, Minister of industry, energy and SMEs on the one hand and Wolfgang Zimmer, director general of Alpine Oil & Gas and Khaled Becheikh, chairman and managing director of ETAP on the other hand, at a ceremony held in Tunis.
