A unit of India's privately owned Essar Group will sign a contract to explore offshore blocks in Nigeria and Vietnam, a top company official has said.
"Yesterday, we received the final version of the production sharing contract (PSC) from Nigeria, and this month we will be signing the contract," S.R. Agrawal, director and chief executive of Essar Exploration and Production India, said.

Essar Exploration, which currently owns stakes in six overseas oil and gas blocks, will have a 100 % stake in the OPL 226 area in Nigeria and Block 114 in Vietnam, he said. The company also keen on extending its coal-bed methane portfolio in India and overseas, Agrawal said.
"Indonesia is a good prospect, China is another."
