Nigeria signs maintenance agreement for its pipelines with Russian firm

Nigeria has signed a preliminary agreement with Russian maintenance firm Ruscorp to help upgrade and protect its oil pipeline network and build new distribution lines.

Nigerian Petroleum Minister Rilwanu Lukman said, "This Memorandum of Understanding is principally to enhance the integrity and monitoring of the Nigeria oil transportation network infrastructure."
Ruscorp Vice Chairman Aleksey Danilyants said, "The overall reduction in the environmental damage that occurs during oil transportation."
