Russia to supply Turkey with gas
Representatives of the Russian Gazexport company and the Turkish pipeline company BOTAS signed an agreement which
regulates the volume of Russian gas supplies to Turkey and also issues of pricing. According to the head of the
Russian delegation, the general director of Gazexport, Aleksandr Medvedev, the agreement takes into consideration the
interests of the two sides.
"Agreement was reached on meeting the real need of Turkey in the Russian natural fuel," he said.
The documents sets a single price for Russian gas, supplied to Turkey via three different channels, and also the
volume of supplies.
The Turkish side said with satisfaction that the price for the supplied Russian natural fuel will not be more than
the price of gas which Russia is selling to Europe.
