Turkmenistan's oil and gas output up in Jan.-Feb.

According to Turkmenistan's statistics department, natural gas output was 130 % up and oil output 20 % up in January and February 1999. Over that period the republic extracted over 1.114 million metric tons of oil, including gas condensate, a 16% increase from the same period last year.
Oil refining was 0.5% up.
About 6.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas was extracted in the first two months of 1999, a 110% increase from the same period last year.
Gas condensate output stood at 48,400 metric tons, a 60% increase from the same period last year.
