Turkmenistan forecasts oil and gas extraction in 2002

Turkmenistan plans to extract 13.5 mm tons of oil and 70.8 bn cm of gas in 2002, under the national oil and gas complex development program endorsed for this year by president Saparmurat Niyazov.
This program also provides for the exportation of up to 2.7 mm tons of oil and 56.5 bn cm of natural gas, of which 50 bn cm of gas will be supplied to Ukraine and Russia and 6.5 bn cm to Iran.
