Naftogaz Ukrayiny to buy enough Turkmen gas for country's economy

Naftogaz Ukrayiny, the National Joint Stock oil and gas company, plans to buy natural gas in Turkmenistan in amounts sufficient to meet all the needs of the Ukrainian economy, Yuri Boiko, chairman of the company's board of governors, told following the opening of the 2003 Oil and Gas exhibition.
"We want to buy as much gas as needed to supply our economy and reach all the goals facing us in the context of expanding cooperation and Ukraine's integration into the European community," he said.

Ukraine imported 35 bn cm of natural gas in January to July, 15.8 bn from Russia and 19.2 bn from Turkmenistan.
