CNPC and KazMunaiGaz to cooperate on Kazakhstan-China Gas Pipeline
Witnessed by the Chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), Wu Bangguo, and First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Umirzak Shukeyev, CNPC and KazMunaiGaz signed an agreement on basic principles regarding the design, financing, construction and operation of Line C of the Kazakhstan-China Gas Pipeline.
CNPC President Jiang Jiemin and KazMunaiGaz President Kairgeldy Kabyldin signed the agreement.
Jiang Jiemin met with Kairgeldy Kabyldin and Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev respectively earlier in the day, to discuss about related issues in the oil and gas cooperation between the two countries.
The Kazakhstan-China Gas Pipeline refers to a majority of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline that is at the border with Kazakhstan.
CNPC and Uzbekneftegaz signed an agreement on construction and operation of Line C of the Uzbekistan section.
Line C of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipeline is expected to kick off at the beginning of 2012, and will start to supply gas in January, 2014.
