Kazakhoil and Marubeni to upgrade work at Atyrau refinery

Kazakhoil has signed an agreement with Japan's Marubeni on the upgrading of the Atyrau oil refinery. Financing for the project, the cost of which has been estimated at $ 305 mm, will come from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (or JBIC, with 85 % of the amount) and Marubeni (15 %).
The upgrade will be conducted within two years without shutting down the refinery. New equipment will make it possible to double the output of gasoline, kerosene and diesel fuel.
