Major gas field opened in eastern Turkmenistan
Specialists of the Turkmengeologia state concern discovered new large reserves of natural gas at the Minara field,
located in eastern Turkmenistan, 90 km from the famous Southern Yolotan-Osman deposits.
A powerful gas flow was obtained at a free rate of 4.3 mm cmpd as a result of drilling of the first exploration well
at the depth of 4,030 meters.
This news was reported by deputy Prime Minister Tachberdi Tagiyev at a government meeting. According to him, such a
high flow rate of fuel proves that newly discovered gas reservoirs are highly capacious and very promising. And its
proximity to the Southern Yoloten-Osman field leads to the assumption that there is a single unique oil and gas
accumulation zone in Turkmenistan.
It should be recalled that according to the international audit conducted last year by experts from the British
company "Gaffney, Cline & Associates", the reserves of the South Yoloten field are estimated as ranging from 4 to
14 tcm of gas.
