Noble Affiliates reports oil discovery in Gulf of Mexico

Noble Affiliates has announced its wholly owned subsidiary, Samedan Oil Corporation, has participated in an oil discovery located offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. The well was drilled in Eugene Island 254, located 45 miles offshore Louisiana, in approximately 136 feet of water. The well encountered approximately 80 feet of pay in one zone, as measured by electric logs. The well tested 1,970 barrels of oil and 3.8 mmcf of gas per day through a 19.5/64 inch choke with 3,350 pounds flowing tubing pressure. The company owns a 30 percent working interest in the property, which is expected to be developed and producing during 1997.
