New gas well discovered in Syria

The minister of oil and mineral resources in Syria, Ibrahim Haddad, has announced the discovery of a new gas well to the west of Palmyra. This is the second gas well to be discovered within three months by the Croatian EINA company, which has contracted with the Syrian side for gas drilling operations.
The Syrian minister said that the discovered well production capacity is estimated at 250,000 cm daily, according to a preliminary study.

The minister expressed his hope that a third well be discovered in the region, adding that if a fourth such well is discovered, a very important gas source will be attained in the region at a production capacity of 1 mm cm daily.
