Gazpromneft wants NIS to be regional leader in south-eastern Europe
Gazpromneft Board of Directors President Aleskandr Dyukov says that the aim of his company was for NIS to become a
leader in south-eastern Europe. The Russian company earlier officially took control of the Serbian oil monopoly
NIS.
Dyukov said that NIS would be the Russian company's stepping stone for the further expansion of business in the
region. He added that the company would invest between 25 and 40 % of the planned EUR 547 mm via the investment
program this year.
"The exact amount of investments in 2009 will be known in two or three months," Dyukov told.
"The money will be invested in the purchase of equipment, modernization of production and sales network," he stressed
and added that the first acquisition tender within the investment program would be announced in March.
