ENI signs agreements for development of oil fields in Italy's Southern Apennines

ENI has signed on behalf of itself and Enterprise Oil a set of six agreements with the Basilicata Region, covering commitments connected to the development of the Val d'Agri oil fields in Italy's Southern Apennines.
The agreements cover environmental compensation, sustainable development, implementation and management of the environmental monitoring system, contribution towards a gas distribution network and creation of an Environmental Observatory.
The completion of these agreements formalises the consents for construction of the oil centre which has already started and which is targeted to produce first oil in the first quarter of 2001 in Italy's Southern Apennines.
