Iran among top crude exporters to Europe
Iran has supplied 4 % of Europe's crude oil demands. Providing 4 % of the oil demands of Europe, Iran has been ranked
8th greatest oil exporter to the continent in the first half of 2009.
Total value of Iran's crude exports to Europe in the first half of 2009 has reached EUR 2.751 bn, the report read.
The 27 European countries totally imported EUR 69.7 bn crude oil in the mentioned period.
Followed by Norway, Libya, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Algeria, Russia was the greatest crude supplier to
Europe, exporting EUR 21.4 bn (31 %) of oil in 1H 2009.
According to a report by Middle East Economic Survey (MEES), Iran also exported 520,000 barrels of crude oil to China
per day in July 2009. Exporting 520,000 bpd, Iran was third greatest oil exporter to China. China has totally
imported 4.64 mm barrels of crude oil per day in July showing 42 % growth over the same period last year.
Saudi Arabia and Angola are ranked second and third in terms of crude exports to China exporting 1.11 mm bpd and
752,000 bpd, respectively.
Iran's crude export to China reached 520,000 bpd in July. China's total crude imports from the Middle East stood at
2.59 mm bpd in August.
Latin America and Africa have respectively exported 278,000 barrels and 1.11 mm barrels of crude oil to China, per
day.
