Algeria and Italy sign energy cooperation protocol

In cooperation, Algeria and Italy signed an energy cooperation protocol in Rome in the sectors of gas and electricity. Algeria also signed a declaration for the setting up of the first African Committee for Energy, thus becoming the first member state to implement the resolutions of the recent Lusaka Summit.
The document was signed by Algeria's permanent representative, Ismail Chergui, in the presence of the secretary-general of the Organization of African Unity, Amara Essy.
