Gazprom to double gas export to Denmark via Nord Stream pipeline
Russia's Gazprom has agreed to double shipments of natural gas to Denmark through the Nord Stream pipeline, the
Russian company said. Beginning from 2012, Gazprom will deliver 2 bn cm of natural gas a year to Denmark for 18
years. Under a previous contract, Gazprom would supply 1 bn cm a year.
"We are very pleased that with this additional contract we are strengthening our long term cooperation with Gazprom,"
said Kurt Bligaard Pedersen, Executive Vice President at DONG Energy.
The Nord Stream pipeline, a Russo-German joint project, is envisioned to carry up to 55 bn cm of Russian gas to
German and other European consumers.
Construction has yet to begin on the pipeline.
