TransGlobe announces results of appraisal drilling in Yemen
TransGlobe Energy is pleased to announce the Tasour 3 appraisal well located on Block 32 in the Republic of Yemen has
been cased as a potential oil well.
The primary target, the Qishn sand reservoir, was found in a structurally higher position than the Tasour 1 discovery
well. The well was cased to protect the oil zone prior to drilling ahead to test two separate secondary targets.
Although the drilling has taken longer than anticipated due to difficult hole conditions, TransGlobe's management is
very pleased with the results to date.
After reaching total depth in approximately 20 days the operator, DNO ASA, plans to test the Qishn sand to establish
production rates and reservoir properties. The Tasour 3 well is located approximately 2 km east of the Tasour 1
discovery well which tested at rates as high as 4,877 bpd. Following the testing program on Tasour ! 3 the rig will
be moved to a new well location, Tasour W-1, located 2 km west of Tasour #1.
