Iran has issued tenders for gas and water reinjection facilities at the Doroud oil field operated by France's TotalFinaElf in partnership with Italy's Agip, the official IRNA agency said. Gas reinjection will raise oil production from the field to 220,000 bpd. The closing date for the tenders is Oct 16.
The onshore subcontract for the buy-back project, awarded in early 1999, requires the construction of gas and water reinjection station and related facilities to more than double recoverable reserves at Doroud, a field offshore Bushehr in the Persian Gulf.
Speaking at an Iranian oil conference in London last month, vice president of TotalFinaElf, Michel Hourcard, said that the option on using gas or water injection was being kept open until the first results were seen. The offshore facilities for Doroud were awarded earlier this year to Anglo-Norwegian Stolt Offshore, which is working with Maritime Industrial Services of Sharjah.
