Saudi council expects American investment in ten main sectors
The Saudi-American Business Council in a recent meeting identified ten main attractive sectors in the Saudi economy,
which are expected to be the leading fields for investment and export by American firms.
These sectors are: electric power systems; water sector equipment; maintenance of installations; production of
chemicals; equipment and services for petroleum, gas and communications; safety and security systems; equipment for
production of chemicals; medical equipment and insurance services.
Three of these sectors will get a major inflow of investments amounting to SR 191.2 bn ($ 51 bn), during the next 5
years, the council said. A part of these investments will come from American firms.
These three sectors include electric power, petroleum and gas, in addition to petrochemical projects. It is
noteworthy that the Saudi-American Business Council is a non-profit organization and its main aim is the growth and
development of relations between Saudi and American businessmen.
