Six petrochemical projects come on stream in Iran
On the victory anniversary of the Islamic revolution six petrochemical projects will come on stream, National Iranian
Petrochemical Company (NIPC) managing director, Abdolhosain Bayat, says.
These projects include the second unit of Zagros Petrochemical plant, ethyl benzene unit of Pars petrochemical plant,
wastewater treatment unit of Mobin petrochemical plant, air separation unit of Mobin Petrochemical plant, a number of
docks at Pars Petrochemical Port and Butadiene unit of Jam Petrochemical plant.
He said the olefin unit of Morvarid petrochemical plant, the second unit of urea ammonia at Pardis petrochemical
plant, development plans of Tabriz Petrochemical plant, Amir Kabir Petrochemical light polyethylene unit and the
chlorine, alkali and PVC units at Arvand petrochemical plant will be among the other projects and are expected to
start operations before the end of the year (29 March 2010).
Expressing that during the forth Development Plan, 26 petrochemical projects with a total investment of $ 19 bn 286
mm to be completed, Bayat added that during the fifth Development Plan (2010-2015), it is expected to have 46
projects completed with a total investment of $ 25 bn 327 mm to be implemented.
