Yemen to sell 2.6 mmtpy LNG to Turkey
Yemen signed a letter of intent with Ankara on Dec. 12 for the sale of 65 million tonnes of LNG to Turkey. The agreement covers the export of 2.6 mmt of LNG a year over 25 years. The deal was first announced in November by Turkey's state-run pipeline company Botas. Yemen and French Total in September signed a deal to develop the Maarib and Jawf gas fields in north-eastern Yemen which have estimated reserves of 450 bncm (16 tcf). The deal also covers the installation of two pipelines, an LNG plant and export facilities. Yemen currently produces around 340,000 bpd of oil and has reserves of around 1.39 bnb.
