Iran increases oil export to Japan
Iran's crude exports to Japan in December reached 505,000 bpd, showing a 79,000 bpd increase over the previous
month.
According to a report by Japan's Economy and Commerce Ministry, the country's total crude imports in December reached
4.166 mm bpd, showing an 8.3 growth over November. In December, the country's crude imports from the Middle East
reached 3.715 mm bpd, the report added.
Saudi Arabia ranked first in terms of exporting oil to Japan. In December 2008, the Arab country's export reached
1.21 mm bpd.
United Arab Emirates' exports to Japan stood at 838,127 bpd in December. Iran's oil exports to Japan also reached
505,802 bpd in the same month. Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Iran are the major oil exporters to Japan.
OPEC announced that Iran's crude oil in January increased by $ 3.05 to reach $ 39.93 per barrel. In its January 2009
report, OPEC announced that the organization's oil price basket in January 2009 witnessed a $ 2.92 growth over the
previous month (December2008) and reached $ 41.52 per barrel.
Based on the report, Iran's oil in the same month increased by $ 3.05 and reached $ 39.93 per barrel.
Meanwhile, a French TV channel reviewed various dimensions of Iran's revolution during the last 30 years, adding that
illegal sanctions by the western countries against Iran have been futile. Despite the US-led sanctions, Iran has
expanded ties with various countries, the channel added.
Announcing that Asian companies have replaced western counterparts in trade with Iran, France 24 announced that
currently Iran enjoys remarkable ties with China, Russia, Turkey and other important countries of the world.
Sanctions have failed in isolating Iran, the channel concluded.
Meanwhile, Dinar Standard announced that the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) ranks second among the top 100
companies in the Muslim world based on their annual revenues. Saudi Aramco stands at the top of the list with an
income of $ 216 bn in 2007, indicating an 8-% growth over the previous year.
Like in previous years, the NIOC is ranked second with a revenue of $ 101 bn in 2007, which has increased by 12 %
compared to 2006. With a $ 8.2 bn income, Iran Khodro is the second Iranian company that ranks 24th on the list. Its
revenue has also increased by 10 % in 2007.
Other Iranian companies included in Dinar Standard's list are: Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company with $ 7.5
bn income ranked 27th, Saipa Automating company with $ 5.3 bn income ranked 42nd, the National Iranian Petrochemical
Company with $ 4.6 bn income ranked 51st, and Bank Melli with $ 3.55 bn income ranked 66th. The total revenues of all
100 top Muslim companies in 2007 increased by 12.3 % from the previous year.
Based on the number of companies included in the list, Iran ranks 6th along with the UAE, Turkey (with 23 companies)
ranks first, and Malaysia (with 14 companies) ranks third.
