Iranian Abuzar Oil Field to reach highest production capacity
With the completion of the Abuzar Oil Field Expansion Project, the production of the field will reach 220,000 bpd of
oil, which is the highest capacity designed for its offshore factories.
Abbas Vakil, Manager of Production Operations of Iran's Offshore Oil Company said: "Last year the production level of
Abuzar Field was boosted to 190,000 bpd of oil, and when this level of production increase was compared to the other
oil fields, it was in most prominent position.”
He explained that this production rise was achieved through drillings in the western part of the Abuzar field,
installing new jetties in the area and linking the secondary jetties with the Abuzar jetties via pipelines, which
made the drilling of a new well possible.
Pointing to the fact that the PetroIran Development Company has undertaken to transform a number of vertical wells
existing in the Forouzan Field into horizontal ones, Vakil stated: "Some of the wells of the field have reached
production phase, in a manner that the daily crude oil yielded from them has reached 50,000 barrels from their
previous 30,000 barrels."
Vakil announced that the drilling operations of the wells will continue in the Forouzan Field and said alongside the drilling of wells, operations for the construction and installation of new facilities are underway to keep up with the increase in production.
