Qatar is producing 31 mm tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per year currently, being the largest LNG producer in the world.
The production is set to double in a year and go up to the targeted 77 mm tpy in two years.

The country hopes to emerge a pioneer in the realm of solar energy as well, as plans are afoot to produce solar panels for marketing worldwide.
"We, in the producing countries, are all for renewable sources of energy. We are making investment in this sector," HE Dr Mohamed Saleh Al Sada, said replying to questions at the US-Islamic World Forum.
