The Abu Dhabi National Oil Co for Distribution (Adnoc-Fod) is planning to increase its lubricants production capacity by 50 % to 90,000 tpy to face growing demand, its general manager was quoted as saying. The project is part of Dh 200 mm ($ 55 mm) expansion plans involving building 25 new petrol stations and other facilities, said Jamal Al Dhareef.
"We are planning to boost the capacity of our lubricant plant from 60,000 tons to 90,000 tpy... we have started expansions and the project could be completed early next year," he told. He said the plans cover building 15 petrol stations in Abu Dhabi, three in Al Ain, three in Ras Al Khaimah and the rest in other areas.

Adnoc-Fod is also negotiating with the Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co. for the construction of hotels at Adnoc-Fod's petrol stations in Ruwais, Ghuweifat and other areas.
"The company has allocated a large budget for its new projects, some of which are giant projects... you can call them the projects of the third millennium," he said.
