IOC and L&T to jointly bid for Oman pipeline
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and construction and engineering giant L & T will jointly bid for implementing Oman
Gas Company's Mina Al Fahal to Sohar crude oil pipeline on EPC basis. The two Indian giants will also be bidding for
development of Melut Basin Oil development project in Sudan.
The project includes 1,400 km long, 32 inches diameter crude oil pipeline, pumping facilities, optical fibre cable,
supervisory control, data access and telecommunication facilities, and marine oil terminal facilities.
Meanwhile, the pipeline division of IOC has registered the record throughput of 44.50 mm tons of crude and petroleum
products during 2003-04. The IOC has a pipeline network of 7,575 km spread over across the country.
The IOC has also approved four pipeline projects: Chennai-Trichy-Madurai, branch pipeline to Chittaurgarh,
Koyali-Dehaj pipeline and Paradip-Haldia crude oil pipeline. The corporation is also executing eight major pipeline
involving an investment of Rs 2,500 crore.
