Turkish firm to transit Iran's gas to Europe
National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) and a Turkish entity signed a letter of agreement in Tehran to export
Iran's natural gas to Europe via Turkey.
NIGEC Managing Director Seyyed Reza Kassaizadeh said that the company has required the Turkish side to receive their
government's permission for the transfer of up to 35 bn cf of gas per year.
A new company will be established in this regard of which NIGEC will have 50 % of the shares.
For the time being, the Persian Pipeline and Nabucco are the two most viable routes for the transfer of Iranian
natural gas to Europe.
