Mexico and Guatemala in electricity pact

Mexican and Guatemalan government officials signed an agreement to share electric systems and common border energy supplies. The bilateral accord connects the two nations' electricity systems and arranges mutual support in case of emergencies. The accord opens the possibility of maintaining security in Guatemala and in Mexico and for mutual support in questions of emergency and maximum demand. The accord will also bring Mexico closer to exporting energy and fulfilling its commitment to supply energy to 41 Guatemalan communities.
