Enersis to invest $ 500 mm in Power in Brazil
Chilean Enersis, which won the privatisation auction of the electric company Cerj in Rio de Janeiro through the subsidiary Chilectra, plans to firm its presence in Brazil. It will invest $ 500 mm to develop Cerj's operations over the next five years. This move is part of a strategy to extend operations in the infrastructure sector throughout South America, bidding for companies put for privatisation. Enersis, through its subsidiaries, has already a presence in the electric sector of Argentina and Peru. Plans now include to bit for the 33% stake to be sold off in the electric company Cemig, at Minas Gerais state.
