Mexico awards $ 250 mm oil drilling contracts

Mexico's state oil company Pemex said it had awarded three offshore drilling contracts worth a combined $ 249.7 mm to privately held MexDrill and a unit of Nabors Industries.
Pemex hired two rigs from MexDrill for a combined total of $ 188.6 mm and a third rig from Nabors for $ 61.1 mm.

The three rigs will be used to drill and complete new production wells at Pemex's Cantarell and Ku Maloob Zaap heavy oil fields in Gulf of Mexico.
