Venezuela interested to expand refinery capacity in Russia
Two-year delays in expansion projects at PDVSA refineries in the United States will in all probability lead to a
greater rapprochements with the Russian Federation as Venezuela seeks to expand its own refinery capacity in
Venezuela at the giant Jose terminal near Puerto La Cruz.
OPEC General-Secretary, Ali Rodriguez Araque has had preliminary conversations with Russian oil executives in Moscow
and follow-up meetings are being held with President Hugo Chavez Frias. Rodriguez says Venezuela is very interested
in expansion, to prospect, pump and produce both oil and natural gas within a set time frame.
