Peru’s natural gas output soars 81.15 % in Jan-Sep 2011
The accumulated production of natural gas reached 292 mm 492,284.41 cf between January and September 2011, 81.15 % more than a the same period last year, Peru's state agency for oil and gas concession licensing, Perupetro, reported.
The growth was mainly due to increased supply of natural gas to LNG plant, operated by Peru LNG and a greater demand from the electricity sector.
Meanwhile, Peru’s average natural gas production in September 2011 totalled one mm 177,139.21 cf of natural gas a day, down 3.6 % compared to August 2011, due to the lower demand of Peru LNG.
The largest producer of natural gas in September was Camisea's Lot 56, operated by Pluspetrol Peru, with 594,507.97 cf, followed by Camisea's Lot 88 with 519,400.70 cf. Aguaytia Energy Lot 31-C output was 26,776.13 cf of natural gas a day in the ninth month of the year.
