Jamaica may invite for concession bids

The government of Jamaica is considering inviting international oil and gas companies to participate in a licensing round in the second half of 2005.
Recent studies and analyses have indicated the possible presence of crude in the country.

There currently is no oil and gas exploration in Jamaica.
Less than a dozen wells were drilled in Jamaica in the early 1980s but only oil and gas shows were found.
