A British commercial delegation arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to explore ways to boost trade ties with local firms. The local authorities said Rio de Janeiro is expected to receive this year a total of 12 commercial missions from Britain, which were prompted by the recent visit of British Prime Minister Tony Blair to the Latin American country.

British businessmen want to boost ties with the firms in Rio de Janeiro, particularly in the areas of energy, oil and gas, engineering and inspection, electronic equipment and agro-business. The British mission will hold talks on how to do business in Brazil with local energy firms.
Last year, a total of eight British delegations visited Brazil.
