Canada seeking new oil and gas partnerships with Kuwait
Canada plans to send an oil and gas business delegation to Kuwait with the hopes of forging new commercial
hydrocarbon partnerships, the Canadian Embassy in Kuwait said.
The 30-member oil and gas delegation organized by the Alberta Ministry of International an Intergovernmental
Relations, Export Development Canada, and Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada will visit Kuwait with the
aim of promoting collaboration while exploring new business partnerships between the two countries, the embassy said.
In their meetings with Kuwaiti representatives, the Canadian delegation expects to present latest innovative
technology that could be useful in Kuwait's hydrocarbon industry.
Kuwait has been in the process of negotiating a major deal with ExxonMobil for the company to develop large reserves
of heavy Kuwaiti oil, mainly located in the emirate's northern fields. Kuwait has also previously sought expertise
from Canadian companies that have broad expertise in developing heavy tar sands intheir country.
