Imperial Oil awards contract for Kearl oil sands project to Fluor

Imperial Oil awarded Fluor Corp. a $ 1.5 bn engineering, procurement, and construction contract for infrastructure
and offlease facilities for the first phase of the Kearl oil sands project, a surface mining and bitumen extraction
operation about 70 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Imperial expects the first phase to start producing in late 2012 at an average 110,000 bpd of bitumen.
In May, Imperial Oil said it was reactivating the C$ 8 bn Kearl project.
