The shrinkage in demand for gas in Russia over 2009 is about 10 %, Gazprom's spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov said.
The fall in demand for gas in Europe proved a little bigger.
Kupriyanov was quoted as saying Gazprom has produced 461 bn cm of gas over 2009, which is 90 bn cm less than in the previous year.
