Geologists report on discovery of new oil reserves in Russia in 2000
Last year, Russian geologists ensured an oil and gas condensate increment compensating for 94 % of extraction,
reported specialists from the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources.
Russian hydrocarbon reserve estimates in general increased by 3.5-5.0 bn tons of conventional fuel in 2000. Promising
east Siberian deposits, as well as the southern and eastern parts of Western Siberia, accounted for 2-3 bn tons of
the total reserve increment.
