Mar 05, 2009 01:00 AM

Russia's oil producer Surgutneftegaz is the only bidder for the license to the East Talakan oil and gas field in Eastern Siberia.
The report, citing unnamed Surgutneftegaz officials and Russian agencies, said the oil producer s ready to pay rubles 1.66 bn ($ 45.8 mm) for the rights. In February the Russian government's subsoil agency, Rosnedra, set the starting price at RUB 1.66 bn.

Earlier, reports suggested Russia's gas monopoly, Gazprom, may also be interested in rights to the field.
The East Talakan field holds proven and probable reserves -- per Russian standards -- of 9.9 mm barrels of oil, 22.9 bn cm of gas and 0.2 mm tons of gas condensate.
