Gazprom beats 10-year reserves growth record in 2002
Russian gas monopoly Gazprom added some 514.4 bn cm of gas, 18.5 mm tons of condensate and 3 mm tons of crude to its
reserves portfolio in 2003, Vasily Podyuk, head of the company's upstream department said.
For the first time since 1993, Gazprom came close to growing its gas reserves almost as fast as its production,
Podyuk told a meeting of the company's management committee.
Last year Gazprom produced 520 bn cm of gas. Gazprom's natural gas reserves amount to 26-tcm, and account for 60 % of
Russian and 20 % of world reserves, according to the company's 2001 annual report.
Gazprom's condensate reserves are 1.2 bn tons and oil reserves 500 mm tons. Over 85 % of the company's gas and
liquids lie in the West Siberia region.
