Gazprom and Rosneft in new Russian oil venture

Gazprom, the Russian gas monopoly, and the state-owned oil major Rosneft intend to accelerate the exploration of fields in the arctic north of Russia.
It is assumed that the companies will need huge investments which could amount to $ 35 bn. Therefore, intensive talks with foreign investors are held.

The focused deposits hold estimated reserves of 6.1 tcm of gas and 2.8 bn barrels of crude.
