Transneft considers building pipeline to Persian Gulf

Transneft has been discussing the possibility of building an export oil pipeline across Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran with a Persian Gulf outlet. Transneft specialists believe that the new route may eliminate the need to build the Baku-Ceyhan oil pipeline because Azerbaijani oil can be pumped along this proposed route.
