Russia wants single energy system for APEC countries
Russia proposed setting up a single energy system for member countries of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
organization (APEC).
"It is necessary to prepare a network of energy sources" because of growing energy consumption, Prime Minister
Mikhail Kasyanov said in voicing the proposal at a meeting in Los Cabos of the APEC Business Advisory Council. He
said some projects for such a system had been launched and that there had been intensive investment, among other
things into oil and gas fields in Siberia.
